Trainers
More than 1,800 independent Authorized SCA Trainers (ASTs) deliver SCA certificate program courses in locations around the globe.
Authorized SCA Trainers (ASTs) are professional trainers with the career experience and broad coffee knowledge to deliver quality courses that benefit both the learner and the industry.
The learning objectives, exams, and resources behind these courses are built on decades of knowledge, research, and real-world experience. SCA certificates are recognized by employers around the world and stand out on an applicant’s resumé. Whether you are a self-employed or corporate trainer, including SCA certificate courses in your training portfolio adds the credibility of a globally recognized program to your product offerings.
Authorized SCA Trainers (ASTs):
have the exclusive opportunity to deliver these courses.
establish their own tuition rates for courses.
pay an AST Service fee for each learner in each course and also have the opportunity to pay the Course Enrollment Fee on behalf of the learner.
set their own schedule of course offerings for both public and private audiences.
design and develop their own lesson plans and materials based on the learning objectives resources and exams provided by SCA.
can host the courses in any venue that is adequately equipped and conducive to learning.
may deliver the courses through combination of in-person and distance learning delivery methods.
ASTs enter into a three-year license agreement with the SCA for authorization to use course materials and offer these courses.
In order to ensure that the trainer network is well-prepared to deliver the most current information about specialty coffee, ASTs are required to participate in a minimum amount of continuing professional development activities during the term of the license.
All ASTs are expected to support the SCA’s Core Values and comply with the AST Code of Conduct.
